If this is true we settled the claim in the 70s then WHY must our Tribal Council keep telling us we are still waiting for the Senate and Mr. Bush to sigh the agreement? if we don't have a claim as I heard when I listen to Mr.Gigner last Thursday [15th] say our tribe has no legal grounds to get a settlement againest Grand Coulee Dam, wow I guess we're all in the dark with this issue. Come Chairman tell us the true are we going to WIN the case or is it another lost to the Spokane Tribe?
THERE IS NO CASE TO WIN. The tribal council is asking for a handout from the federal government. The Coulee Dam issue was and is being used to give tribal people a false hope of receiving money for something you have no legal claim to. The tribes right to a legal claim was bargained off by lawyers in the 70's. Those who have bought into this myth and think the tribe has money coming, you need to research what was lost when the tribe received the settlement claim in the 70's. Most of you will remember the payment you all received back then. When you agreed to that payment you forfeited any future claims against the US Government. Those of you who have questions need to demand the truth to what are the facts surrounding the so called settlement your council is trying to get from the Senate and Mr. Bush. Get your heads out of the sand and demand answers.
